Abuja (NEMA Report) – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has presented a mobile intensive care ambulance to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to support the activities of the organization on disaster management in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
While presenting the ambulance at the NSCDC Headquarters in Abuja on April 24, 2014 the Director General of NEMA, Muhammad Sani Sidi said that the gesture aims at enhancing the capacity of NSCDC towards prompt response to emergency medical aid during disasters.
The Director General of NEMA, who was represented at the occasion by the Director of Search and Rescue, Charles Otegbade (Air Commodore) said that NEMA was offering the ambulance to the NSCDC in fulfillment of its earlier promise to give support to emergency responses in the FCT.
In his comment during the reception of the ambulance, the Commandant General of NSCDC, Ade Abulorin averred that the gesture depicts the excellent leadership activities of NEMA in the coordination of disaster management in the country.
Ade Abulorin represented by the Deputy Commandant General of NSCDC, Suleiman Bello guaranteed the use of the ambulance for its desired purpose, adding that the NSCDC would continue to cherish the existing working relationship between the two organizations.
