Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has asked the club to resolve Alexander Isak’s situation as quickly as possible. He recently backed the right of Newcastle supporters to boo the wantaway striker, and fans have been reacting.
Speaking to the press, Howe revealed that the fact that Isak is in the news all the time is a major distraction for the team that needs to end.

According to him, while he appreciates the mentality of his players to shut out the distraction and focus on the performance on the pitch, the situation cannot be allowed to linger.
“It’s a difficult one to answer. I hope it’s resolved quickly, because it’s news around us all the time. Players have managed to shut that out and perform. We have to continue to do that. We have to cope without the narrative against us,” he said.
On facing Liverpool next, the English manager shared that he is looking forward to the game because it will be a true test for Newcastle.
“It’s always spicy against Liverpool, there’s a history to the fixture. We look forward to it. We know how good they are,” Howe said.
Eddie further concluded by saying that he has nothing to say against the fans booing Isak, stressing that they deserve praise for always supporting the team.
“Whatever happens (with Isak) our supporters acted really well today because they supported the team when we were playing. They’ve always done that unbelievably well. If they want to say something afterwards, they are free to do that,” he added.
