Neymar has been banned for 3 matches by the French Football Federation after an investigation into his clash with a fan after PSG’s Coupe de France final defeat to Rennes.
The Brazilian appeared to hit a supporter in the crowd as he went to receive his runner-up medal after the loss on PK, could’ve been banned for about 8 matches for his action.
The punishment, including a suspended ban for two more games, means Neymar will not in PSG’s last home match of the season against Dijon, the away game to Reims and the Trophee des Champions against Rennes next month.
A statement on the ban from PSG read, “Considering the insults suffered by several of the club’s players, including Neymar, at the end of the Coupe de France final, plus the various elements sent by PSG to the disciplinary commission, we consider this sanction severe,”
“PSG and Neymar have decided to appeal against this decision to the FFF’s commission for higher appeals.”
