Congo Assistant coach, Isaac Ngata says pressure will be on hosts Senegal when the two sides face-off in a crucial Group A decider on Saturday, 14 March 2015 at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
The two teams have one point each and victory in the ultimate clash will almost see the winner into the last four depending on the outcome of the other fixture between Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire in M’Bour.
All three teams stand an equal chance of qualification to the semis, and for the remaining slot for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand with Nigeria through from Group A and Mali and Ghana in Group B.
Ngata, who deputized for Frenchman Claude Le Roy at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea told Cafonline.com “we are in a good spirit ahead of the game. We will put in our all to get a win.
“Senegal is a good and very tactical side but we have to play our game. We have the players who can do the job. There will be more pressure on them (Senegal) and we hope to capitalize on that to our advantage. We are the outsiders though”.
The Junior Red Devils began their campaign with a 1-1 draw with Cote d’Ivoire before succumbing 4-1 to a 10-man Nigeria in their second match that all but put their chances hanging by a thread.
“The next game is always important and we have put the results of the previous games behind us. We are looking forward to the game against Senegal. The team for Senegal will be different from the one that played against Nigeria,” added Ngata.
Captain Pavelh Ndzila added that they are very focused on the encounter against the hosts and are looking forward to come out of the game with nothing but the maximum points.
“We are very focused on the match and will do everything possible on the field to achieve victory. It is an important game. We have a chance of qualifying and we have to win to be on the path of qualification,” said Ndzila, who was a member of the ‘Diables Rouges’ squad at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where they reached the quarters.
