N’Golo Kante left France’s World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria with a muscle injury on Saturday.
Kante was seen holding his hamstring on his left leg when he was substituted 34 minutes in the game. He was replaced by Adrien Rabiot with France already leading, and Les Bleus held on for a 1-0 victory.
Didier Deschamps confirmed the injury after the game and ruled Kante out of Tuesday’s qualifier against Belarus.
After clinging on to win on Saturday, France will just need to beat Belarus to secure their World Cup spot, though Sweden remain in contention in UEFA qualifying Group A.
The loss of Kante would be another injury blow to Chelsea, who are already without injured striker Alvaro Morata.
