Symrise, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, cosmetics, and nutritional ingredients, has inaugurated its newly upgraded application laboratories in Lagos.
This move underscores Symrise’s commitment to Nigeria and its strategic growth plans in the region, aiming to deliver enhanced value to consumers.
The announcement was made during a press chat and office opening event for clients at Symrise Nigeria’s new facilities in Ikeja.

Lilian Regnier, President of Symrise Europe, Africa, Middle East, highlighted Symrise’s longstanding presence in Nigeria, spanning over 30 years. She emphasized the company’s investments in building and maintaining operations in the country, positioning Nigeria as a pivotal hub for growth in Central, East, and West Africa.
Regnier stated, “Nigeria represents a pathway to growth for us in the region, and we are confident that the country’s economic trajectory will benefit global manufacturers and organizations who are invested in its future.”
The personal care segment in Nigeria, estimated to be a $1 billion market, presents substantial opportunities, particularly for SMEs which constitute over 94% of businesses in the country.
René Hemeier, Vice President of Symrise’s EAME Scent, Care, and Fragrance Division, commented on the opportunities the new application labs create for SMEs, noting, “The exit of multinational organizations creates an opportunity for local SMEs.”
Sofiane Berrahmoune, Vice President for Africa, Middle East, Turkey, and Russia in Symrise’s Taste, Nutrition & Health Division, explained the strategic importance of the upgraded facility. He said, “This new facility enables us to serve the market better, understand its dynamics more effectively, and provide tailored solutions.”
The upgraded application laboratories are designed to cater to the diverse needs of the industry, offering solutions that empower manufacturers of all sizes to thrive in a competitive market environment.
