The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has reaffirmed his confidence that Nigeria is on a steady path to prosperity under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Akpabio made the remark during a public function organized by Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), held in Abuja.
The Senate President commended Professor Sulaiman for his outstanding contributions to democratic development and legislative capacity building, describing him as a “patriot, scholar, and reformer” committed to national progress.

He reiterated the National Assembly’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s governance system through the ongoing constitutional review, aimed at deepening democracy and promoting accountability.
“Nigeria is becoming a better country for prosperity under President Tinubu. The National Assembly will continue to support reforms that enhance growth, unity, and stability,” Akpabio said.
In his remarks, Professor Sulaiman expressed pride in NILDS’ achievements in advancing legislative and democratic ideals through research, institutional reform, and international collaboration.
He noted that under his leadership, the Institute has evolved into a global hub for legislative innovation, fostering the exchange of ideas and policy knowledge to strengthen democracy and good governance in Nigeria and beyond.
