The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is set to bolster its fleet with the delivery of 50 brand-new aircraft over the next two years.
These planes will be stationed in NAF formations across the country, including Adamawa State, to enhance efforts in containing insecurity in the northeast region and beyond.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Hassan Bala, made this announcement on Friday during a courtesy call on Governor Ahmadu Fintiri as part of his visit to tour the operational units of the Nigerian Air Force in Adamawa State.

He informed the governor that the state would soon experience increased aerial security presence with the arrival of state-of-the-art fighter jets.
“Although Adamawa State is still grappling with security challenges such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and the menace of Shilla Boys, NAF is committed to its role in addressing these issues,” Air Vice Marshall Bala stated.
Governor Fintiri acknowledged the collaboration between the Nigerian Air Force and the state government in maintaining security.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting and cooperating with security agencies to ensure the safety of the state and the country.
Additionally, Governor Fintiri called for urgent action on the reconstruction of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Gombi and Madagali local government areas, emphasizing the need for timely completion of these critical projects.
