The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, has announced the possibility of merging airlines in Nigeria. This was disclosed by the Director General of NCAA, Captain Musa Nuhu.

Captain Musa Nuhu has reiterated that the Aviation Authority has has long seen a potential merger of airlines in the aviation sector due to the economic crisis that has affected the sector.
The Director General disclosed this during a television programme in which he addressed the effect of the pan the Aviation industry. He also stated that the merger will reduce operational cost and make the Aviation sector to survive.
According to him the coronavirus pandemic influenced the already bad economy. Captain Musa stated some airlines may not survive the effect of the pandemic but however affirmed that the Aviation industry will come out of the pandemic better.
In his words this is not the first time the sector will suffer economic hardship, and that they have always emerged stronger. He noted that the The Airlines Operators of Nigeria are presently deliberating on the way out of the present crisis.
He also explained that some airlines are in debts, and most maintainance service done by airlines and done in foreign currencies.
