The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, has begged President Muhammadu Buhari to sign a bill seeking to establish Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) as a paramilitary organization in the country.
The Emir who took advantage of the opportunity to preach peace and good neighborliness further pledged his support for the Corps.
He also said that when signed into law, the organization would further enhance peace within the country following the growing rates of hate speeches.
“Religious and tribal sentiments are the greatest enemies of this country,” the traditional ruler said.
“Until we learn how to tolerate each other, no matter the tribe or religion, we would not get it right in this country.
“We should be one. We live side by side, we sit down side by side to eat and drink together here. Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Birom, we should remain united. Igbos and Yorubas are my brothers and sisters, I will use my last blood to fight for one Nigeria.
