Rent Increment Is Now Unbearable For Business Owners – Lilian Esoro

Nollywood actress Lilian Esoro has reacted to the excessive rent increases in Lagos State. She recently had her say via her social media page, and fans have been reacting.

Expressing her frustration online, Lilian revealed that rent on her property in Banana Island just jumped by 392.31% and she is now expected to pay ₦50 million henceforth.

The moviestar added that the rent situation has become unbearable for many residents and business owners.

Her words, “Same house you already own, with no renovations done, and you increase the rent just because you can. On what ground?

Some landlords really need to do better. Show a little empathy and kindness.”

Film-making in Nigeria is divided largely along regional, and marginally ethnic and religious lines. Thus, there are distinct film industries – each seeking to portray the concern of the particular section and ethnicity it represents. However, there is the English-language film industry which is a melting pot for filmmaking and filmmakers from most of the regional industries.
