The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Aisha Rimi as its new Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (ES/CEO), marking the commencement of her official duties earlier today.
Ms. Rimi’s ascension to this pivotal role heralds a new era for the NIPC, as she brings a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to advancing investments in Nigeria. With a clear vision for propelling the Commission’s mission, she aims to enhance NIPC’s efficiency, foster an investor-friendly environment, and craft innovative strategies to attract and retain foreign investments.
In her inaugural address to the NIPC team, the new CEO underscored the pivotal role NIPC occupies as the gateway to Nigeria’s investment landscape. She emphatically stated, “Without a functional, operational, and efficient NIPC, investments will essentially amount to nothing. We are not here solely to promote investments; we are here to facilitate them and see them through from inception to completion.”

Ms. Rimi further expressed her unwavering commitment to positioning NIPC as a driving force in Nigeria’s economic development. “If Nigeria succeeds, we succeed,” she declared. “I have no plans to ‘Japa’; I cannot go anywhere. We have to make it work.”
Recognizing the leadership transition at NIPC, Ms. Rimi extended her gratitude to Hajja Gana Wakil, her predecessor, for her dedication and commitment to ensuring the continuity of NIPC’s mission during the interim period.
Concluding her remarks, she emphasized, “I am not here to reinvent the wheel. The wheel is there. Our task is to make it work. We need to oil it, grease it, and put every effort into making this machinery function. As I mentioned earlier, our success is intertwined with Nigeria’s success, and we all play a part in this success story.”
Aisha Rimi, NIPC’s new Chief, boasts an impressive career spanning over 30 years, marked by her extensive experience in international investments. Her background includes work as a visiting attorney in the United States, which has provided her with firsthand insight into how investments evolve across the African continent and how governments engage with investors.
The entire NIPC team extends a warm and enthusiastic welcome to Ms. Rimi as the new CEO. The team eagerly anticipates the positive impact her leadership will bring to the Commission’s mission of promoting and facilitating investments in Nigeria.
