The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called off its warning strike after two days.
The union has ordered its members to return to work across the country.
NLC President Joe Ajaero released a statement on Wednesday in which he hailed the progress made.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, workers across the country went on strike because the Federal Government had not yet removed subsidies from the cost of gasoline as promised.
Commercial and industrial activity across the federation ground to a halt as a result of the labor unions’ decision.
“We are pleased to report that, thanks to your resolute commitment, we have made significant strides toward achieving the goals set during our National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which prompted the initiation of this warning strike,” Ajaero added.
Our unified message has resounded strongly with the authorities, and only the most oblivious person could fail to notice.
As we celebrate the completion of the two-day nationwide warning strike at the stroke of midnight tonight, we respectfully request that you terminate the strike and return to work as scheduled tomorrow.
