The General Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mallam KKyari has today given a keynote address at the 20th Nigeria Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition.

The conference which has its theme as “Fortifying the Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry for Economic Stability & Growth took place online.
In his words the General Managing Director stated that irrespective of earlier forecasts where it was revealed that there is a decline in demand; crude oil is still constitute a part of the global energy mix.
He also identified the need for the corporation to be more resilient and efficient in it’s operations. He stated the corporation has resolved to reduce the production cost of the corporation, so as to compete and make valuable returns.
He noted that NNPC is working on the use of domestic gas in order to create more jobs and improve the economy of Nigeria. He as well spoke about the Petroleum Industry Bill as an instrument to ensure competitiveness in the fiscal environment.
