The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has today launched it’s Health Maintenance Organization. The Health Maintenance Organization’ was convened by the corporation’ Group Managing Director, Mallam Mele Kyari.

At the launch, Mallam Kyari described the NNPC as an enabler organization that has consideration for the health of their shareholders.
The Group Managing Director stated that the HMO was established as the NNPC’ means of contributing towards improving health insurance in the country.
While speaking Mallam Kyari stated that NNPC group relies on the existing collaborative support of the National Health Insurance Scheme to improve the acceptance of Health Insurance by Nigerians, develop the local Healthcare industry and eradicate medical tourism.
Mallam Kyari reiterated that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation will provide the necessary platform to monitor the entire Oil and Gas sector with the aim to achieve an increased penetration rate of at least 2% in 5years time.
In his words the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Professor Mohammed Sambo noted that NNPC’ establishment of Health Management Organization will fasten the attainment of Federal Government Programme of Universal Health Coverage for all Nigerians.
