The National Working Committee (NWC) of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) issued a statement on Monday, exposing a disturbing revelation regarding sponsored efforts to tarnish the reputation of Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State.
In the official declaration released to the media, the NNPP notified the public about orchestrated attempts by expelled members, including Tope Aluko and former state chairmen, to undermine key leaders of the party.
The statement, signed by Ladipo Johnson on behalf of the NWC under the acting national chairman, Abba Kawu, highlighted the false narratives being propagated against Governor Yusuf and the party’s presidential candidate in the previous election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso.

The NNPP firmly asserted, “Certain expelled members, sponsored elements, including Tope Aluko and ex-state chairmen, are conducting a press conference in Jabi, Abuja, spreading propaganda that H.E. Abba Kabir Yusuf was not a member of the NNPP during the election, and falsely claiming that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is dismissed from the party.”
The statement continued, emphasizing Governor Yusuf’s bona fide membership in the NNPP throughout the election period.
It expressed confidence in the Supreme Court of Nigeria to deliver justice in the matter.
“We remind the general populace that Chief Boniface Aniebonam, one of the NNPP founders, recently voiced support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, urging the upholding of his election,” the statement concluded.
The NNPP remains steadfast in refuting these allegations, aiming to dispel any misinformation circulating about their prominent members.
