Liverpool captain, Virgil van Dijk has come out to say that he never gave up vs Nottingham Forest. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the club has shown time and time again that it is never over until it is over, so he and his teammates kept the belief that the goal was coming till the referee blew his whistle.
Van Dijk added that Nunez has been so important for the club this season, and he proved his worth yet again.
His words, “No, no, no, the game was not over so I still had the belief. We’ve shown over the course of my time here that we never give up. We always keep going. We found a way and that’s the most important thing. Darwin’s been so important for us this season and it’s great to have him back out there. It’s a big goal and a well deserved win in the end.”

The capacity of the stadium at the time was 20,000, although only 100 spectators attended Liverpool’s first match at Anfield.
