The former US First Lady, Michelle Obama, has said that her daughter never cared about pleasing Barack Obama. She recently revealed unlike her older daughter, Maila, who never hesitated to warm up to her dad, her younger daughter, Sasha, was not a people pleaser.
Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of her and Craig Robinson’s “IMO” podcast, Michelle shared that Obama experienced a lot of friction with Sasha because her girl always preferred for people to go to her.

According to her, after Obama started referring to their daughter as difficult, she had to explain to him that their youngest was just not a people pleaser like her older sister.
She stated that parents must learn to be chameleons sometimes to adjust to the different temperaments of their kids.
“Sasha is like a cat. She’s like, ‘Don’t touch me, don’t pet me. I’m not pleasing you. You come to me.’
Some people parent to one child, or one personality child, but then you have three,” she said.
Michelle noted that Malia, on the other hand, was always fond of intentionally spending some time with Obama before going out of the house to live her teenage life.
She concluded by saying that her eldest would go as far as discussing politics with her father just to make it an interesting conversation he would be proud of.
“I’d say this to Barack, when it comes to, you know, [our] oldest, Malia, she is going to figure out who you are, what do you like and let’s discuss it.
When Malia was a teenager, it wasn’t that she was going out any less or doing anything differently. She would tell me, ‘I’m going out this weekend, but I’m going to go in and give dad like 15 minutes.’
She’d go into the Treaty Room and be like, ‘Tell me about Syria,’ Barack would come out of their meeting saying, ‘I just had an amazing conversation with Malia.’
I’m like, ‘Ok.’” she said.
