Members of the public who display their wares and vehicles on parking slots along major road across Ogun State have been warned by the State Government to desist from the act forthwith.
The Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor on Transportation, Bar Gbenga Opesanwo who handed down this warning today in a press statement, indicated that offenders would be penalised in accordance with the State traffic laws.
According to Opesanwo, the parking slots were created to make road travel safe and pleasurable and should not be used for displaying of goods and vehicles.
The Governor’s aide emphasised that no person, office or business is permitted to place goods on the spaces reserved for parking, adding that where necessary, application for the use of such spaces should be made to the Bureau.
He reassured the motoring public that the State Government remained committed to smooth vehicular movement as appropriate measures were already in place to ensure road safety during the forthcoming festive period and beyond.
