The Ogun State Government, through the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), has sealed Ideal Warehouse located in Asese, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, over alleged air pollution and other environmental violations.
The action followed complaints raised by members of the public after a social media blogger shared a video alleging that emissions from activities within the warehouse were affecting air quality and posing health risks to residents of the surrounding community.
Speaking to journalists after the enforcement exercise, the General Manager of OGEPA, Mr Kehinde Bello, said the video generated widespread concern online and prompted calls for government intervention.

Bello explained that officials of the agency subsequently visited the facility to conduct an environmental assessment.
He said the warehouse was sealed after it was found to be non-compliant with environmental safety and air quality regulations, pending further investigation and the implementation of corrective measures.
He reiterated the agency’s commitment to enforcing environmental laws across the state, warning that industries and facilities operating without proper environmental safeguards would face appropriate sanctions.
The OGEPA boss also encouraged residents to report environmental hazards through the appropriate channels to enable swift government action.
In a related development, Bello disclosed that Sanhe Nigeria Limited, a plastic recycling company located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, was also sealed for allegedly discharging untreated wastewater into the community.
