One hundred and ten suspects have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command after multiple raids of black spots across the State.
The raids were carried out in Sagamu,Ijebu Ode,Ilaro, Otta and Abeokuta and the operations were supervised by the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Department of Operations DCP Akpoebi Agberebi.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed that the Command worked on the intelligence gathered from the State Intelligence Bureau of the Command on black spots in Ogun, which propelled the raids and eventually led to the arrest of the suspects.
“The Command had earlier vowed to sustain its raid on black spots where ‘bad boys’ converge to plan and execute their evil acts with a view to being proactive and flushing hoodlums out of Ogun and improve on protection of lives and property of the citizenry,” the statement reads.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye has however ordered concerned Area Commanders, AC’s and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to screen the suspects properly so that only those found wanting will be charged to court.
