Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbodiyan, has stated that the participation of Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in the governance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) poses a significant threat to the PDP’s stability.
Ologbodiyan claimed that ongoing attempts to align the PDP with the APC could reduce the opposition party to a mere extension of the ruling party.
He made these remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday amid the leadership crisis within the PDP.

Addressing the issue, he said: “As a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, I align with whatever Debo Ologunagba, the substantive National Publicity Secretary, states as the official position of the party.
“In respect of leadership issues, Debo Ologunagba has firmly stated that Sunday Ude Okoye is the person recognized by the party. Until he says otherwise, that remains the constitutional position.”
On the influence of the APC, Ologbodiyan noted: “There have been clear attempts to reduce the Peoples Democratic Party to a branch or an arm of the All Progressives Congress.
“The involvement of Nyesom Wike, a former presidential aspirant under the PDP and now Minister of FCT, in the governance of the APC, has created a scenario that could lead to the collapse of the PDP. That is an undeniable fact.”
Ologbodiyan’s comments reflect growing concerns within the PDP over internal divisions and external influences as the party navigates its leadership challenges.
