OnApp for vCloud Director delivers intuitive cloud management and provisioning for VMware-based service providers, plus next-gen global reselling capability; includes free deployment, configuration and 24×7 support
VMware Partner Exchange, Moscone West, San Francisco – February 2, 2015 – OnApp has announced that its new web and mobile portal for VMware vCloud Director® is available free for the six month period ending August 1, 2015, with deployment, configuration and 24×7 support included. The free offer is revealed at the VMware Partner Exchange 2015 event in San Francisco, February 3-5, where service providers can demo the new portal at the OnApp booth #228, and watch live demonstrations onstage with the VMware team and during an in-depth OnApp breakout session.
OnApp for vCloud Director® provides an intuitive and fully rebrandable cloud management and provisioning environment for the global community of service providers running their cloud on VMware vCloud Director. Using OnApp as the front end to vCloud-based services also gives service providers an easy way to expand the range of services they offer, with open source Xen/KVM-based cloud services, CDN services, and global reseller capabilities via the OnApp Federation, OnApp’s global network of clouds.
“We’re thrilled for VMWare service providers to have access to all the benefits of OnApp in order to help better manage and provision their vCloud Director® environment,” said Narendar Shankar, President of OnApp USA. “More than 3,000 providers in 90 countries run their clouds on OnApp software, and an estimated one in three public clouds are now powered by OnApp. Our free six month promotion makes it easy for the global vCloud Director customer base to realize the benefits of intuitive web and mobile cloud management, too, and with free deployment and support it’s super-easy to get started.”
With the release of VMware vCloud Director® 5.6, VMware announced that all new vCloud Director functionality would be accessible only via third party portals. The new OnApp for vCloud Director portal has been in development since early 2014 and entered an extensive Beta program in September 2014.
The new promotion enables service providers to deploy OnApp for vCloud Director® and use it free of charge until August 1, 2015. Following the free period, OnApp for vCloud Director will feature extremely competitive pricing under the VMware points system, with deployment, configuration and 24×7 support included.
To see a live demo of OnApp for vCloud Director®, VMWare Partner Exchange attendees can visit OnApp at Booth 228 on the exhibition floor, next to VMware’s EVO Zone. In addition, OnApp will be offering a formal demo at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, February 3, during VMware’s session, vCloud Director for Service Providers: Roadmap and Partner Update with a deep dive in OnApp’s own breakout session, OnApp for vCloud Director, at 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 4.
