The Chairman of the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ade Adetimehin, countered the assertions made by his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Fatai Adams, on Wednesday.
Adetimehin dismissed Adams’ claims that former PDP members who had joined the APC were now returning to the PDP, labeling the assertion as false.
In a statement released in Akure, Adetimehin clarified his position regarding the swearing-in ceremony of the caretaker committee.

He denied being part of the ceremony, contradicting Adams’ allegation that it occurred at the Government House instead of the House of Assembly.
Responding to the accusations made by Adams on Tuesday, Adetimehin characterized them as an attempt to spread rumors about the defection of PDP State Working Committee members to the APC.
He asserted that the PDP was a party grappling with internal challenges and urged Adams to address those issues rather than resorting to false claims that could sow discord among APC members.
Adetimehin emphasized, “Ade Adetimehin was not at the swearing-in of the caretaker committee, as claimed by the PDP Chairman.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the House of Assembly. It is regrettable that the PDP chairman has chosen to misrepresent the facts to discredit me and our party.”
He called on Adams to provide concrete evidence and substantiate his claims about individuals purportedly returning to the PDP.
Adetimehin emphasized the importance of factual basis rather than making sweeping statements that lack evidential support.
