The All Progressives Congress (APC) has ordered a stay of action on plans to impeach the state deputy governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as part of ongoing efforts to settle the political deadlock in Ondo State.
A reconciliation committee has been formed within the party to resolve the dispute between the governor and his deputy.
On Friday, APC national chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje spoke at the inauguration of the committee led by former Kastina State governor Aminu Bello Masari. He emphasised the importance of ensuring a good working relationship between the governor and his deputy and expressed confidence that the committee’s members, who have extensive experience in public service, will be able to do so.
As a political party, we are invested in the harmonious coexistence and productive partnership of the governor of Ondo State and his deputy,” Ganduje added.
A reconciliation committee needs to be formed in order to figure out how to address this issue. To achieve peace, we need to bring together those who have thought deeply about and worked through the subject at hand.
To gather facts and circumstances surrounding the ongoing impeachment proceedings of the Ondo State Deputy Governor, the Masari panel is tasked with “interfacing and engaging with all contending partner(s) with a view to doing so.”
To counsel the party on how best to prevent further impeachment proceedings against the Deputy Governor of Ondo State.
As part of the project, you’ll be expected to provide recommendations to the client on how to handle any problems or complications that arise.
The committee’s recommendation is due one week after it is sworn in.
Masari responded by expressing gratitude for their selection and promising that their assistance would result in a peaceful resolution of the dispute between the governor and his deputy.
In addition to Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Sen. Jack Tilley Gyado, Tanko Almakura, Martin Elechi, Martins Elechi, and Mohammed Abubakar also serve on the committee.
