Ondo PDP Drags NWC To Court Over Party Structure

The state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has filed a suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja to stop the dissolution of existing party steuctures.

This came following the defection of Governor Olusegun Mimiko from the
    Labour Party (LP).

The national leadership of the PDP had recently constituted a committee to Mimiko to the PDP. With the comittee’s mission now successful, the Ondo State governor has reportedly asked to be allowed to nominate both the state Chairman and Secretary of the
party after the dissolution of the state executives, something the state PDP is totally against.

The Ondo State chapter of the PDP has therefore sought refuge in court, to restrain
the National Working Committee of the party from dissolving the existing party structures in the state in favour of the new decampee.

Served in the summon with which the application was filed include the National Working Committee and its privy, as well as the Senate President who is the Chairman,
    South-West Reconciliation Committee.

While the PDP in the state expressed happiness at Mimiko’s decision to join the PDP, the party said Mimiko should keep the
structure of his government while the party structure also remains.
