Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have expressed their support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the April 25 governorship primary election.
The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, led 12 other lawmakers to the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja to affirm their backing for the governor and the continuity of an APC-led government in the state.
Speaker Oladiji appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, for their timely intervention in resolving the political crisis that occurred in the state a few months ago.

He reiterated the lawmakers’ commitment to supporting the APC-led government in Ondo State, expressing confidence that the primary elections would be peaceful.
In response to questions from journalists, Oladiji stated that they disagreed with a letter written by a few members of the House of Representatives to the President.
He emphasized that the majority of the APC members in the House of Assembly supported the continuity of the current administration under Governor Aiyedatiwa.
Oladiji highlighted the peaceful state of Ondo under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, noting that those criticizing the administration may not have a clear understanding of the situation on the ground as they are primarily based in Abuja.
He emphasized that the assembly members were present at the party’s secretary in Abuja to set the record straight and not to deceive Nigerians.
