Osun Election: Accord leading, security withdrawal is rigging plan – Dino Melaye

Former Kogi State Senator Dino Melaye has alleged that the withdrawal of security personnel from some locations in Osun State is part of a plan to manipulate the ongoing governorship election.

Melaye claimed that the Accord Party was leading in the election and alleged that the withdrawal of security personnel was intended to create an opportunity for electoral malpractice.

He raised the allegation in reaction to developments surrounding the conduct of the poll, urging relevant authorities to ensure that adequate security is maintained throughout the electoral process.

According to him, any deliberate reduction in security presence could expose voters, electoral officials and election materials to intimidation and other forms of interference.

Melaye called on security agencies to remain neutral and ensure that all polling units and collation centres are adequately protected.

He also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to safeguard the integrity of the election and prevent any attempt to manipulate the results.

The former lawmaker appealed to voters and political parties to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

He maintained that the outcome of the election should reflect the genuine choice of Osun residents and not the activities of individuals or groups seeking to influence the process.
