Osun guber: Adeleke accuses Oyetola of using Tinubu’s influence to cause problem

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has accused his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, of using his relationship with President Bola Tinubu to exert influence in the state.

Adeleke made the allegation while speaking during a town hall programme for candidates ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The governor, who is seeking re-election, claimed that Oyetola had not come to terms with his defeat in the previous governorship contest and had allegedly continued to create difficulties for his administration.

Adeleke linked Oyetola’s alleged influence to his family relationship with President Tinubu, who served as governor of Lagos State before becoming Nigeria’s president.

The governor also defended his public dancing, which has attracted criticism from political opponents, saying the activity was merely a personal hobby and had no impact on his responsibilities as governor.

He maintained that he remained focused on governing Osun State despite the criticism, insisting that there was a clear distinction between his private recreation and official duties.

The allegations come amid heightened political activities in Osun State, with Adeleke and other governorship candidates intensifying their campaigns ahead of the August 15 election.

Oyetola, a former governor of the state and current minister in the Federal Government, has yet to publicly respond to Adeleke’s latest allegations.
