Osun guber: Adeleke campaign, APC trade allegations as both seek voters’ support

The campaign council of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have exchanged accusations ahead of the August 15 governorship election as both camps intensified efforts to win the support of voters.

The latest exchange followed remarks by the APC, which criticised the Adeleke administration over its performance and urged residents to vote for its governorship candidate, arguing that the state needed a new direction.

In response, the Adeleke Campaign Council dismissed the APC’s claims, accusing the opposition of attempting to divert public attention from its record while in government.

The council maintained that Governor Adeleke’s administration had delivered visible infrastructure, improved workers’ welfare and expanded social intervention programmes across the state, insisting that the achievements would earn him another term in office.

It also challenged the APC to campaign on its record and present alternative policies rather than engaging in what it described as baseless allegations and political propaganda.

According to the campaign organisation, the people of Osun are more interested in governance and development than political rhetoric, expressing confidence that voters would reward the governor’s performance at the polls.

The APC, however, insisted that the forthcoming election offers residents an opportunity to elect a government capable of delivering better governance and sustainable development.

As political campaigns gather momentum, both parties have continued to canvass support across the state’s local government areas ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
