Osun guber: Adeleke urges voters to resist intimidation, participate in election

Osun State Governor and Accord governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has called on residents to ignore any form of intimidation and come out in large numbers to vote in the August 15 governorship election.

Adeleke made the appeal during a church service in Osogbo, where he urged eligible voters not to allow fear or threats discourage them from exercising their constitutional right.

The governor said the forthcoming election presents another opportunity for the people to determine the future of the state through the ballot, stressing that every valid vote would count.

He expressed confidence that the electorate would support his administration based on its record in office, noting that his government had continued to implement programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents and developing critical sectors of the state.

Adeleke also appealed to security agencies and election officials to discharge their responsibilities professionally and impartially to ensure a peaceful, free and credible governorship election.

He urged voters to remain law-abiding before, during and after the poll, while encouraging them to reject violence and any act capable of undermining the democratic process.
