The Osun State Government has refuted claims of mass recruitment into the state’s civil service, clarifying that the ongoing sale of forms by the Osun State Civil Service Commission is a regular official procedure.
In a statement released on Friday and signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, the state government emphasized that the information about mass recruitment was misconstrued, as the government had only approved the recruitment of 500 new teachers and 250 education officers.
The statement cautioned the public and job seekers not to mistake the teacher recruitment for a general mass recruitment into the state civil service.
It highlighted that the sale of forms by the Osun State Civil Service Commission is a routine process and should not be viewed as part of a mass recruitment scheme by the Ademola Adeleke-led administration.
The government advised individuals who have obtained the forms to keep them secure until an official announcement is made regarding any potential mass recruitment exercise.
It reiterated that the current approved recruitment drive is specifically for the hiring of an additional 5000 teachers and 250 education officers, aimed at filling existing vacancies in the state’s teaching service to revitalize the education sector.
The statement concluded by stating that any future plans for a general mass recruitment into the Civil Service would be officially announced through designated media channels.
