Paul Pogba has upped his recovery from injury by training with Manchester United’s reserves, sources have said.
Pogba has missed United’s last 12 games after suffering a hamstring tear playing against Basel on Sept. 12.
But there is genuine hope that the 24-year-old could return to Jose Mourinho’s squad following the international break after he took part in a session with some of the club’s young players on Wednesday.
Mourinho has given the week off to the many of first-team players not involved with their national teams, including Chris Smalling, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Scott McTominay.
But Pogba has remained at Carrington in a bid to return in time to feature against Newcastle at Old Trafford on Nov. 18. He was joined at training on Wednesday by Marcos Rojo and Michael Carrick.
Rojo has not played since damaging his knee ligaments in April, while Carrick has not featured since the 4-1 win over Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup on Sept. 20. It is the 36-year-old’s only appearance of the season.
United have 13 players away on international duty with the majority not due to return to Carrington until Wednesday or Thursday next week.
