ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – Jan 22, 2014) – PayGo, a leading utility consumer engagement and integrated payments provider, announced today an agreement to provide its core application services to Georgia Power. Both companies are headquartered in Atlanta with Georgia Power providing electricity to 2.4 million customers in the state of Georgia.
The PayGo solution will leverage existing Georgia Power investments in smart grid and consumer technologies to provide consumers with additional payment flexibility and convenience through an integrated prepay program. Prepay programs have demonstrated that customer satisfaction increases significantly while decreasing utility operational costs.
The program will commence with an initial rollout later in 2014 in selected Georgia Power service areas. Customers living in these areas with a “Smart Meter” will be eligible to enroll in the program.
“PayGo is delighted to work with Georgia Power on such an innovative consumer initiative,” said David Elve, Chief Marketing Officer for PayGo. “Energy prepayment (Pay-as-you-Go) solutions in the USA have driven higher customer satisfaction as well as energy conservation. We look forward to supporting Georgia Power’s efforts to deliver similar results as they leverage investments in the smart grid.”
