The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kebbi State has elected 39 new executive members at its state congress held on Saturday at Safar Guest Inn, Birnin Kebbi.
The congress, chaired by Dr Mukhtar Muhammad Lugga, produced Alhaji Usman Bello Suru as the new state chairman of the party.
Other officials elected include Alhaji Hussaini Abdullahi Raha as vice chairman, Abubakar Bawa Kalgo as secretary, Alhaji Malami Dannyaro Gwansu as treasurer, Mr Iliya Tomo as financial secretary, Barrister Nura Bello as legal adviser, Alhaji Bello Makama Argungu as auditor, Alhaji Sani Dododo as publicity secretary, Hon Garba Liman Boma as organising secretary, Hajiya Rabiatu Bature as women leader, and Abdullahi Muhammad Bunza as youth leader.
The exercise was closely monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, security agencies, and party stakeholders to ensure due process.
The newly elected executives were sworn in immediately after the congress.
