Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have vowed not to succumb to intimidation or exclusion tactics allegedly employed by the Federal Government.
The governors made the declaration during the party’s 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Tuesday in Abuja, where they reaffirmed their commitment to good governance and the unity of the party.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, accused the Bola Tinubu-led administration of creating “a unique set of circumstances” marked by obstacles, provocations, and shifting political dynamics.

According to Mohammed, the PDP has been subjected to political pressures, including defections and coalition talks, some of which have affected the party’s membership. Nonetheless, he stressed that PDP governors and stakeholders remain steadfast.
“Despite these pressures, our members remain steadfast and unwavering. There is no form of intimidation or persuasion that we, as elected governors and members, have not encountered. Yet, we remain resolute in our commitment,” he said.
He contrasted the PDP’s unity with what he described as internal divisions within other political parties.
“Other parties have been fragmented, with factions emerging here and there. But it is undeniable that we stand together as one,” he noted.
Governor Mohammed also underscored the PDP’s ongoing efforts to maintain visibility and relevance through a series of state-level meetings and policy communiqués. He cited recent engagements in Plateau, Taraba, Oyo, Delta, Akwa Ibom, and Bauchi states as examples of the party’s proactive stance on governance.
“We have been conducting meetings across various states and issuing communiqués addressing critical governance issues. These efforts are aimed at maintaining our visibility and demonstrating that we are not yielding to the pressures around us,” he stated.
Mohammed commended PDP leaders for their resilience and described the 99th NEC meeting as a victory for democracy and principled opposition in the face of adversity.
