The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has clarified that no decision has been made yet regarding zoning for the November 16 Ondo State governorship election.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, after a meeting with critical stakeholders from Ondo State in Abuja, the NWC emphasized that it had not allocated its ticket to any part or area of the state.
Ologunagba assured all governorship aspirants and PDP members in the state of a level playing ground in all nomination processes and election activities, in line with the party’s constitution (as amended in 2017), the Electoral Act 2022, and the Party Guideline for the Election.

He further stated that the nomination process and election activities would be inclusive, free, fair, and transparent, in accordance with the Nigerian and PDP Constitutions.
The NWC also approved the convening of a special meeting to facilitate reconciliation and unity among party stakeholders in the state.
This meeting will include party leaders such as Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, top party leaders from Ondo State, and the NWC.
Emphasizing the importance of loyalty to the PDP, Ologunagba called on all stakeholders to work together for the party’s success and the benefit of the people of Ondo State, noting that the people are counting on the PDP to restore their state.
Finally, the NWC reiterated its call to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a free, fair, and credible election in the state.
