Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has come out to reveal why club forward, Nicolas Pepe was absent from the 3-0 Premier League victory against Bournemouth on Saturday. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the unfortunate reality of the English Premier League is that a few players will have to left out of the squad from time to time because the managers will also go with their best legs.
Arteta added that it is very painful to drop players, but he always has to go with options that are in the best condition to deliver good results.
His words, “There were a few players that we have to leave out of the squad, unfortunately.”
“It’s painful but we try to bring the team and the squad that is in the best condition to give us the best chance to win the game.”
