Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness has said Manchester City are a class above rivals Manchester United when it comes to recruitments, and this is Pep Guardiola following in Sir Alex Ferguson’s footsteps.
Manchester City beat the Red Devils on Wednesday night in a comfortable 2-0 win to go top of the EPL, and they are also in a decent position to equip the squad the more in the summer transfer window.
Graeme Souness is of the opinion that Manchester City are now adopting an identical philosophy to the one used by Sir Alex during his amazing tenure at Old Trafford when he clinched 13 Premier League titles.
His words, “They’re (Man City) in such a wonderful position because they can just cherry-pick players. It was like United in the past,”
“They don’t even have to come in the team straight away. They can just see the way of working and what it’s like to play for the club. United, meanwhile, are buying under pressure. What is their priority? A defender, a man up front?
“City know where they’re going. Fernandinho will need to be replaced eventually and City know that, but they can look and look and look. United find themselves in a really difficult place.”
