Godswill Akpabio, president of the Senate, has said that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s attendance at the wedding of Fatiha of Amir, son of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, is evidence of a united Nigeria.
Speaking after the ceremony in Kano on Friday, Akpabio said that Senator Barau is a peaceful man of the people because so many influential people attended the wedding.
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, and his supporters are in attendance, he added. “This tells you that Nigeria will remain united as one entity.”
Fatiha was performed for Amir and Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki, the daughter of Aliyu Sani Madaki, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, and was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The gathering took place at Goron Dutse, Kano State, at the Isyaka Rabiu Juma’at Mosque.
