The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has reiterated its call for the Speaker of the State Assembly, Gabriel Dewan, to immediately swear in the 16 APC and Labour Party members who were declared winners by the Appeal Court.
In a statement issued by the APC Assistant State Publicity Secretary, Nimzing Pyennap, the party urged the speaker to act without delay, stating that the appellate court had affirmed the members as the legitimate winners of the election.
This call comes after the speaker had previously stated in January that he would not swear in the new members until the court ruled on a suit filed by the sacked 16 PDP lawmakers.

However, the Appeal Court recently dismissed the suit and imposed a fine of N128 million on the sacked lawmakers for seeking a review of its judgment.
The 16 PDP lawmakers have been dissatisfied since they were removed by the appellate court, which later acknowledged that its initial decision was based on an erroneous judgment, similar to the Supreme Court’s decision on comparable cases.
Despite their efforts to have the judgment reviewed, the 16 PDP lawmakers have been unsuccessful in their attempts.
