Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern
are encouraged by Mauricio Pochettino’s
comments as talkSPORT reveal that Spurs
goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is happy at Spurs despite
interest from Real Madrid.
.
There has been continued speculation that Lloris
is Real Madrid’s transfer plan B should Los
Blancos fail to sign Manchester United’s David De
Gea.
.
The France captain has the leadership qualities
as well as the experience to become a Real
Madrid first team player but Pochettino insists
that the former Lyon goalkeeper is happy at
White Hart Lane.
.
The particular rumour that has been flying
around the tavern regarding the Frenchman is
that Real Madrid are lining up a £25 million bid
for the 28-year-old.
.
But even if Madrid sign De Gea instead of Lloris,
Spurs could still potentially suffer because if
Manchester United lose their number one
keeper, they could then turn their attentions to
the Frenchman themselves.
.
Despite the reports, Pochettino says he has no
intentions to sell his current number one.
.
“Hugo is one of the best keepers in the world and
I have recognised that,” he said.
.
“His contribution is magnificent, Hugo is very
happy here with us. It’s difficult for these kind of
clubs to get him because he’s happy here.
.
“Maybe in the future he can play in the
Champions League with Tottenham.”
