The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested three suspects in possession of illicit drugs during a raid in Lere Local Government Area.
ASP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest on Sunday, revealing that the operation took place on Saturday evening in compliance with directives from the Commissioner of Police.
“At about 2000hrs on Saturday, our operatives conducted a raid at identified black spots in Unguwan Mangou, Saminaka town, Lere LGA,” Hassan said.
The suspects were identified as Ahmed Sama’ila and Nuhu Ahmadu, both from Lazuru village, and Sagir Idris from Mangorori, Saminaka town.
“They were found in possession of 114 Exol-5 tablets, 22 sachets of Diazepam tablets, three sachets of Tramadol tablets, multiple wraps of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and a sharp knife,” Hassan disclosed.
He added that the suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
The police spokesperson urged residents to provide timely and credible information to help maintain security in the state.
