The Edo State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity in possession of arms and ammunition.
The suspects, identified as Osamudiamen James, 44, and Omokaro Joseph, 44, were apprehended by operatives of the Raiders Squad, according to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Umoru Ozigi, who disclosed the development to journalists in Benin City.
Ozigi stated that James was initially arrested at Iyekemuose Street, Benin City. During interrogation, he confessed to being a member of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity and led police operatives to their armoury.

“One Omokaro Joseph, also known as Joe Best, who is in charge of the armoury, initially escaped arrest but was later tracked down and apprehended by the operatives,” Ozigi said.
Further investigation revealed that Omokaro had allegedly sold guns to several individuals in Benin City and its environs.
Items recovered from the suspects include five pump-action guns, three single-barrel guns, and 18 cartridges.
The Commissioner confirmed that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
