The police apprehended 157 suspected kidnappers all over Nigeria in April, and 13 have been arrested in May already, according to Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Mohammed Adamu.
He revealed that even this is a sign that crime is increasing in the country, it also shows the police is doing its job by ensuring the arrest of this criminals increases as well.
He shared that Kaduna State recorded the highest with 18 suspects, and next was Plateau with 17, Edo 15 and Niger and Zamfara with 10 each.
Adamu disclosed, “This trend is particularly noticeable from the month of April which coincided with the launch of `Operation Puff Adder.’
“This is indicative of the fact that the operation has been largely effective in strengthening the capacity of the police to respond to internal security threats.”
He then urged policemen to continue the good work to ensure crime is battled properly in the country and to make Nigeria a secured nation .
