Operatives of the Abraka Division, in collaboration with vigilantes and hunters in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State, have rescued a kidnapped victim abducted from his residence in Abraka community.
The victim was freed on April 3, 2026, following a report of the abduction received on April 1.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Bright Edafe, said the victim was kidnapped by armed men who stormed a residence at Denedo Extension in Abraka.

According to him, the Divisional Police Officer mobilised patrol teams alongside local vigilantes and hunters, leading a coordinated operation into the bush where the victim was held.
“The suspects, upon noticing that the policemen were closing in on them, abandoned the victim and fled, leading to his rescue along a bush path near the railway line,” Edafe said.
He added that the victim is safe and has provided useful information to aid ongoing investigations.
The police spokesperson noted that efforts are underway to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects.
