The Adamawa State Police Command has retrieved the unconscious body of a suspected vandal found near a transformer in the state capital, Yola.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the command disclosed that the man was discovered early in the morning around Ribadu Square while allegedly attempting to vandalize electrical cables.
“The Adamawa State Police Command today, 19/1/2025, found a yet-to-be-identified person at an electric transformer along Ribadu Square around 0600hrs while trying to vandalize some electrical cables,” the statement, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, read.

According to the police, the man suffered severe electric shock and injuries after part of his body came into contact with live electrical currents, leaving him unconscious.
The suspect was subsequently evacuated to a hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, issued a warning in the statement, urging residents to steer clear of electrical transformers and report any suspicious activities around such facilities to law enforcement for immediate action.
