The Kogi State Police Command has stated that it intends to deploy more than 40,000 police officers around the state in order to guarantee the smooth running of the governorship election on November 11.
This information was provided by Bethrand Onuoha, the state Commissioner of Police, during a telephone interview that took place on Monday with NAN in Lokoja.
According to Onuoha, the decision to send a big number of personnel into the state was based on lessons learned from the state’s history.

Even if recent events lead us to believe that the entire Kogi region is a flashpoint, we have identified some security hotspots for the purpose of increasing the amount of attention we pay to them.
It should be enough evidence to convince you that the state requires additional security checks if you look at the amount of security personnel we are deploying for this election.
“With the deployment of adequate security personnel in Kogi, we are calling on everyone to come out and exercise his or her civic right in this next governorship election on November 11,” the statement read. “The election will take place in Kogi.
“We are going to swam the state with enough security personnel and by the special grace of God, with our actions and sanctions, we are going to confound our detractors,” he stated. “We are going to swam the state with enough security personnel.”
Onuoha continued by saying, “God is telling me that this election is going to be better than all of the elections that have ever taken place here in Kogi.”
Because our mission is to assist the general population rather than just one particular person, we have instructed all of our staff members to treat everyone with equality.
The CP issued a call to action to politicians, urging them to play by the rules of the game and reminding them that elections would come and go, but the people would always be there.
“We anticipate that they will engage in political engagement without ill will. “I don’t care what political party he’s affiliated with; your brother is still your brother,” he told her. (NAN)
