A Popular Lagos plastic surgeon, Dr Anu Adepoju has been reportedly suspended for conducting a plastic surgery which later turned out worse on the patient. The patient reportedly developed multiple organ failure of cardiac, respiratory and renal failures, which led to her eventual death.
Dr Anuoluwapo Adepoju, who was suspended by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria; for conducting surgery on a patient named Nneka Onwuzuligbo which allegedly resulted in the eventual death of the patient, has been suspended indefinitely.
Dr Anu is at present under close investigation over suspected illegal activities and is also being tried with failure to comply with a summons by The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
Dr Anu who runs,a plastic surgery hospital Med-Contour has been suspended pending the hearing of her case in court.
The Lagos University Teaching Hospital has also backed the Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Investigation Panel and encouraged the panel to investigate the alleged professional misconduct of the Lagos plastic surgeon.
LUTH, stated that Dr Anu performed surgeries despite that her facility was sealed off by the Lagos State Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency.
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has therefore acknowledged the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria’ decision by suspending her from practice pending the determination of the case in court.
