As the Ogun State government continues with the process of verifying claims made by applicants of the homeowners’ charter programme, others who are yet to submit their forms have been reminded of the need to provide accurate information and data to enable the assessors carry out the job without stress.
Director of Land Ratification in the State Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr Fatai Adeboyejo gave this reminder when he led a team of professionals to Ado-Odo Ota, Akute, Agbado and Alagbole-Ifo in continuation of the verification exercise.
He reiterated that government meant well by introducing the programme to enable them obtain necessary documents at a huge discount, saying that beneficiaries should not wittingly or unwittingly frustrate the gesture, as the team discovered a lot of discrepancies and incorrect information in the forms.
“The government’s gesture to help home owners regularise papers of their properties is no doubt a laudable move, but this cannot be achieved when people fail to supply us the necessary information, phone numbers and correct home addresses among others, all these are needed to carry out our responsibilities and help them get their documents at the end of the day”, he said.
He also enjoined applicants who must have been contacted earlier through either phone calls or text messages to be readily available and allow the assessors check all their documents.
On what would be the fate of applicants not met on ground by the assessors, Adeboyejo indicated that they would again be contacted on another date that the team would revisit, urging that they should however be available on the new date.
